India - Chennai office closed due to extreme bad weather

Red alert in Chennai, Puducherry, Thiruvallur - Tiruppur district records highest rainfall

Following a red alert issued by the India Meteorological Department Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, and Ranipet districts for Thursday, the Greater Chennai Corporation has asked the public to stock up on food and necessities and to avoid going near water bodies or low-lying areas. Intense rainfall has begun over coastal Tamil Nadu since early hours of today.

According to the IMD’s latest data, Kundhalam and Dharampuram in Tiruppur recorded the highest amount of rainfall in the last 24 hours. While Kundhalam received 20 cm of rain, Dharapuram received 13 cm.

Meanwhile, the Theni District Collector announced the closure of all schools and colleges today in the district in wake of heavy rainfall. Schools and colleges in Puducherry and Karaikal have also been closed.

We inform you that, Indian Meterological department has announced heavy rainfalls several regionals particularly in Norther Districts of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, Tiruvallur Kancheepura and Villupuram.

Consequently, starting today and for the next 4 days, our Chennai branch office will be closed due to extreme bad weather.
