*October Update* - USA to impose additional tariffs on imports of goods with origin China

14 October 2019

Following our previous communications on the same topic, we inform you that the United States and China are currently working on a deal on customs duties, to be implemented in three phases.
For this reason, in light of last week’s negotiations, President Donald Trump has temporarily suspended the scheduled increase on the tariffs on products with origin China, imported to the US, that are reported on List 1, 2 and 3 of Section 301.
However, President Trump has not mentioned any change on the additional duties that will be imposed on the products listed on List 4B yet.

Therefore, the situation shall be as follows:
-    List 1, Section 301: all goods imported to the USA with origin China pertaining to this list will be subject to an additional 25% ad valorem rate of duty on products.
-    List 2, Section 301: all goods imported to the USA with origin China pertaining to this list will be subject to an additional 25% ad valorem rate of duty on products.
-    List 3, Section 301: all goods imported to the USA with origin China pertaining to this list will be subject to an additional 25% ad valorem rate of duty on products.
-    List 4B, Section 301: starting from December 15, 2019, all goods imported to the USA with origin China pertaining to this list will be subject to an additional 15% ad valorem rate of duty on products.

Our Customs Consultancy Department is at your complete disposal to study your case and to support you.
