The development of the network in Romania marks a pivotal milestone in the history of D.B. Group, representing the first significant step in the company's internationalization process.
The connection between Italy and this country, thanks to its highly strategic geographical position, the continuous modernization of its transportation infrastructure, and a rapidly expanding market, has always been central to the economic and commercial growth of both nations. It fosters trade, investment, and decisive cooperation within the European and global context.
The expansion of D.B. Group's extensive network in Romania began in 1998 with the opening of the first branch in Timisoara, a city historically recognized as a leader in the textile, footwear, apparel, and sports systems industries, and now – along with Arad – also in the automotive sector. Timisoara also serves as a crucial hub for international trade, acting as a bridge between Eastern and Western Europe.
The following year, in 1999, NDB Logistica was established in Arad, created with the aim of completing the range of services offered to our clients. This allowed D.B. Group to strengthen its presence in the logistics sector, ensuring significant optimization in the management of logistics flows.
To provide increasingly comprehensive solutions, in 2002 D.B. Group Romania also acquired Lombarda Spedizioni to offer clients consultancy and assistance in the customs field.
To consolidate the network, 2007 was marked by the opening of the Bucharest office in the capital, the main center of Romania’s road and rail network, a key logistics hub for freight transport, and a focal point for the chemical, pharmaceutical, and automotive industries.
The geographical expansion further strengthened with the opening of the office in Constanța, marking another significant strategic step in the development of operations in this territory. Constanța is home to the largest port on the Black Sea, considered one of the major ports in Europe. This makes it a strategic hub for international maritime trade, particularly for routes connecting Europe and Asia.
This continuous progression has allowed D.B. Group to consolidate and expand its network of services to and from Romania, offering increasingly specific and comprehensive solutions, with a particular focus on the automotive, fashion & lifestyle, and industrial machinery sectors.
In 2019, D.B. Group Romania obtained the AEOF certification for customs operations, as well as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 18001 certifications, demonstrating the company’s commitment to quality, environmental sustainability, and safety.
In 2023, it celebrated its 25th anniversary, marking a remarkable milestone in its development in this country.
The longstanding and extensive presence in the area, the close connection with Italy, and the continuous optimization of services at both national and international levels ensure that this country today plays a key role for D.B. Group.
